Oriel House

Location: London
Type: Residential

A heavily constrained site ekes out a distinct form that mediates between the urban and suburban context. A new housing collective is bound together through subtly woven communal spaces as well as family homes that are distinguished yet uninhibitedly 'cosy.'

Sculptural in form, the building binds two rough cast materials using a handmade hung brick and cast glass 'jewels.' As well as a creating a push and pull effect against one another they also pick up on the colours and tones of the surrounding everyday materials whilst exploring the physical gap between the urban and suburban condition to create delight diurnally.
